Capability Uplift
Description
RC Fornax works with the customer (usually the functional/capability manager) to understand the capability demand within the organisation. This capability demand is generated in the form of either a job specification or an outcome-based definition of the work required and the skills provision required to complete the work. This definition is generated in collaboration with the customer.
Benefits
- Niche skill profiles are supported using RC Fornax’s associate network.
- Customer is able to access associates on an individual basis to fill gaps in projects.
- RC Fornax manage the associate (SoW), and either advise or manage IR35 status, thus enabling access to full talent market.

Provision of key skillsets. Small teams, or low volume capability requirements.
Embedded Outsourcing
Description
RC Fornax works with the customer, and in particular the project/program of interest, to define a capability provision. This capability provision may be in support of a given portion of a project (e.g. HMI, Emulators), a given skillset (e.g. SW or Test team), or a delivery team within an ‘Agile’ construct.

Recommended Usage
- Large projects where elements of the work need to remain under the customers guidance, however capacity requires additional engineering resources.
- Supporting projects with specialists skills which are not within the strategic direction/requirement of the business.
- Less effective for short (<12m) or unstable projects.
Traditional Outsourcing
Description
RC Fornax is provided with Packages of work to deliver back to the customer as an external entity (with site visits as required). This is more like a standard engineering delivery house, however when used in conjunction with the other operating models this can be used to successfully increase the engineering capacity of the customer, whilst maintaining close working relationships.

- Allows for the customer to make use of RC Fornax’s engineering capabilities.
- Can be most cost effective as RC Fornax is able to optimise employee workloads over many projects
- Customer is able to utilise skills from a different geographic location.

- Clearly defined items/solutions with lose coupling to other work items.
